Brazil's sweeping anti-corruption investigation "Operation Car Wash" has trapped yet another president. Michel Temer, who became head of state in 2016 following the impeachment of his predecessor Dilma Rousseff, was arrested by federal police on the morning of March 21 while out in Sao Paulo. Federal prosecutors charged him with running a "criminal organization" during the construction of the nuclear plant at Angra dos Reis, south of Rio de Janeiro. He faces ten charges in total, five of which are said to have occurred while he was president.
